‘This guy is very quickly becoming my favourite player’: Michael Hussey, VVS Laxman lavish praise on Shubman Gill – cricket

India was in a comfortable position at the end of Day 2 in the Sydney test against Australia on Friday. India played against Australia with a score of 338, despite Steve Smith scoring the first century. The opening partnership was India’s Achilles Heel in the Tests in a recent match, but with Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma being introduced as a pair in Sydney, it was of great help to the visitors.

The duo of Rohit and Shubman scored 70 points in the opening week because India had 50+ opening partnerships after 15 innings. Shubman Gill looked impressive during his innings, hitting his maiden test 50 on Friday. Shubman scored 50 points on 101 balls with 8 borders before losing his wicket to Pat Cummins.

Shubman is highly praised for his serenity in his debut test series in India. Former Indian hitter VVS Laxman praised Shubman.

“For those who only play the second test match of @RealShubmanGill, it can be very reassuring at the turnstile. Solid defense, positive stroke play, clarity of thinking. India’s future is definitely bright in all three formats,” Laxman said on Twitter.

Former Australian hitter Michael Hussey said on the air during a test match “Shubman Gill is quickly becoming my favorite player.”

“This guy is becoming my favorite player to look at. He’s a gun. Plays well on the front feet, but better on the rear feet. And it sends a message to Baller.

“I love the unwavering character of these two players (Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma). However, Shubman Gill, a particularly young man, was early in his career. There’s nothing that puzzles him, and it doesn’t seem to be.

“He keeps it flashy, close to batting and simple in the folds. Inadvertently at the fold. He was great to watch and played some great scenes,” Michael Hussey said on Sony TV.
